About Andrea

But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. — Luke 2:19
Hi there, I'm Andrea Gonzalez — a 51-year-old mama, wife, caregiver, and homeschool teacher who is somehow still standing by the grace of God and a whole lot of coffee.
My 34-year-old daughter has Down Syndrome and has taught me more about unconditional love than any book ever could. My 26-year-old son lives with Autism and Schizophrenia, and walking alongside him has shown me the depths of both heartbreak and hope. My husband manages Traumatic Brain Injury and Fibromyalgia every single day, and his strength inspires me more than he knows. And then there's my youngest — my 12-year-old firecracker whom I have the joy (and adventure!) of homeschooling.
On top of all that, I'm managing my own diabetes while trying to be the best caregiver I can be. Sound exhausting? It is. But it's also incredibly beautiful.
I created Treasures in My Heart because I needed a place like this when I was drowning. A place that felt like a friend's kitchen table — warm, honest, and full of grace. I wanted to build something for families like mine: resources that actually help, encouragement that goes deeper than a motivational poster, and a faith-based community that understands.
Whether you're here for practical tools, spiritual encouragement, or just to know someone gets it — welcome home, friend. Pull up a chair. The kettle's on.
